Ezekiel Thompson

Ezekiel, aka Zeke, was born and raised in District 5, a place that symbolizes both hope and struggle due to its key role in supplying power to the Capitol from a massive hydroelectric dam. Zeke works at the hydroelectric dam, where he oversees operations and assists in maintaining equipment. Despite the dangerous conditions and the constant pressure to meet the Capitol's demands, he takes pride in his work, believing that every watt of power he helps generate is a step toward greater self-sufficiency for his district. One fateful day, while working near the edge of the dam, Zeke lost his footing and nearly fell into the raging waters below. His heart raced as he teetered on the edge, but a quick-thinking coworker managed to grab him just in time, pulling him back to safety. This brush with death ignited a fierce realization within him: he wanted to fight for his life, not just wait for the inevitable day of the reaping, when his name could be drawn to compete in the deadly Hunger Games.
