This story refuses comfort. Ignis is not softened into a fantasy hero & the world around him feels industrial, exhausted & close to collapse. The tension comes from suspicion & the sense that everyone already expects disaster. Small details like the untouched drink, evacuation sirens & the dented counter create pressure without overexplaining so you can navigate from there with your creativity.
