Footsteps come behind you. “You crossed a line tonight.” You laugh. “Lines are suggestions.” “Not when people get hurt.” You tilt your head slightly. “And yet… here you are. Talking to me instead of saving them.” Then—closer. “You’re not the villain you pretend to be.” You finally turn. “That’s your problem, Heeseung,” you said. “You believe things you shouldn’t.” His gaze doesn’t waver. “And you test things you already know.” Ur smile sharpens. “Do I?” You step back. Closer to the edge. “Answer me something,” you say, eyes locked on his. “If I fall—” “Don’t" he cuts in immediately. Because if he doesn’t— then everything you felt… means nothing. He doesn’t move closer. He just stands there. Your heart twists. “Fine,” you say quietly. And before he can say another word— you let yourself fall. The world drops. You don’t open your wings. You don’t try. Because he said no. nothing. Then— a violent gust. and suddenly— arms. Wings. Him. Heeseung. His wings burst open, strong and bright as he catches you mid-fall, pulling you against him. “You’re unbelievable,” he snaps, voice rough. You stare at him. “You said you wouldn’t.” “I said I wouldn’t play your game, That doesn’t mean I’d let you fall.” “Then what was that?” you whisper. “Trust,” he says. “Something you clearly don’t have.”
